Business

  • Paul reached out to the contractor that picked up leaves last Fall about the cost to do it again this Fall.  Kevin did not think he did a good job, he had skipped his home.  Barbara H. thought he did a good job.  Kevin said overall it was okay.  Paul will get some more estimates.
  • Paul wants to lower the tax rate.  Barbara T. has proposed the new budget, a copy of the current budget and the new budget was passed around.  Right now the tax rate is 20 cents per $100.  To lower it to 16 cents would lower the budget by $12, 500.  Kevin noted that the sim cards are a yearly budget item.  Barbara T. will update the budget change.  After discussion, Paul proposed to lower the tax rate to 17 cents per $100 and all agreed.  The updated tax rates will be posted on the website and Facebook.  Barbara will update the budget to be voted on in July.
  • A resident stated that the lights on Claremoor and Farnham are out again.  The board will reach LG&E again.
  • Kevin is proposing an amendment to the current ordinance for parking on the road.  The new ordinance was read aloud.  A resident asked about being grandfathered in but the board said not.  Angela brought up plantings in the easement by the road and the board said it is not allowed.  Kevin stated any other changes need to be done at this time.  Votes will be tabled for one more month in case any other changes would need to be made.  Barbara T brought up that cars cannot be parked fully on the road to allow emergency vehicles to pass.
  • A resident called Paul about a letter he received.  Paul will reach back to clarify any misunderstandings.
  • A resident brought up the pothole at the entrance.  The board discussed it is not in our jurisdiction but that we should all reach out to 311.
  • Discussion continued on the MSD easement behind Claremoor.  Letters to be sent to violators.  A suggestion of taping these letters to front doors.  Paul suggested hiring a drone to view the area since some yards can not be transversed because it is so overgrown.  July 15th being the cut off before hired work will be done to bill violators.  Paul will post online to look for a local to hire for the drone views.

Paul motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:39 pm.

The next meeting is July 7, 6:30 pm, in person at Northeast Library.
